Happy Birthday!

Cake Cutting

On 22 March, Manchester Central Library’s doors were thrown open for a special “Sunday Funday” of creative activities, live music and tours of the historic building. The past was brought to life with characters from Shakespearean times and World War I, while tiny readers enjoyed interactive features in the children’s library and a special Central Library birthday cake!

A year on from the re-opening of the venue, the Development Trust is proud to support this programme of free performances and activities for people of all ages at one of Manchester’s best-loved landmark buildings. Children and parents loved exploring the diverse range of things to do and the event presented the perfect opportunity to find out what the venue has to offer.

Above: Sunday Funday and Central Library Major Supporters, Jean and Mike Oglesby CBE, celebrate the library’s re-launch anniversary by cutting the cake!
